Milwaukie Police K9 Unit Fundraising

Milwaukie Police are in the process of raising money to restart a K9 program. Previously, the Milwaukie police had a K9 program, but that program ended in 1992 due to attrition and retirement of dogs. Officer John Truong is taking on the task of restarting the program. Over $23,000 has been raised so far for the program. The money will fund training of the officer and dog, purchase of the dog and equipment. Anyone wishing to make donations to the program can contact the City of Milwaukie.

In an effort to help raise the money necessary to restart the program, Purdy’s Car Wash, 3075 SE Harrison in Milwaukie is hosting a fund raising car wash. On March 29 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Purdy’s will donate $5.00 for every car washed to the Milwaukie Police K9 Program.
